Chino Latinos is the hip version of its partner, Figlios. This is where Uptown goes to be seen and bask in the orangish glow of a modern-styled bar/lounge/restaurant. The crowd here is usually young professional or older business people that are checking out a hip joint, money is flashed, good times are had. Come here with a group to enjoy the large oversized portions (sized and priced for at least 2).
Chino Latino is huge, but its usually lots of open tables, with people condensing in the bar or lounge area, which is the only place you get their happy hour specials. The music is Latin dance or Latin jazz and is a welcome change to the normal music heard at nearby places like the Independent, Figlios, Williams, etc. They were also the first place to offer a little exposure into the women's bathroom (you share the sinks). We love the concept of Chinos, a hip South Hemisphere theme in the middle of Uptown at affordable prices.
THRIFTY TIP- Valet is $8, try taking a right on 31st to find free neighborhood street parking.
